Functionality

Ethernet Line allows GTS customers to transfer data employing MEF-compliant standards. The Customer’s network is physically connected to the GTS network and our international partners’ networks. GTS ensures proper transmission parameters in the network. Data is transmitted through separate Ethernet Virtual Channels (EVC) with fixed capacity, dedicated solely to a specific single user. The bandwidth is flexible, adjustable between 256 kbps and 10 Gbps.
The service is an end-to-end solution, with a link provided between the indicated sites, regardless of their location in relation to GTS network nodes. The access line is terminated at a required point in the building, and constitutes an integral part of the solution, with reliability guaranteed by GTS.
To meet all the customers’ needs, GTS offers the service in two options:

  • Ethernet Private Line — for connecting two locations. This option is designed for companies requiring high flexibility and a dedicated solution that allows the customer to singlehandedly create VLANs and administer them.
  • Ethernet Virtual Private Line — service based on operator-managed VLANs. This option allows for connecting multiple locations in a point-to-multipoint topology.

The Ethernet Line service offers CoS and QoS. Quality parameters are included in the SLA, which also includes service availability guarantee.

The GTS network includes network nodes in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. Additional nodes in Frankfurt and Berlin enable direct connection of customer locations in these agglomerations. If it becomes necessary to connect sites outside the reach of local access networks, GTS uses services of the largest European and global telecommunications operators. GTS cooperates with Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, British Telecom, Colt, Global Crossing, and many others.
