OnAir has transferred some of its IT resources to the GTS data centre in Poland

3. 10. 2011
GTS Poland Sp. z o.o., in collaboration with AMG.net S.A., has successfully launched a managed hosting service for OnAir. OnAir, headquartered in Switzerland, is the leading global provider of inflight connectivity services.

GTS now hosts OnAir’s services in its data centre in Poland, one of the most modern in Europe. Reliability of service is paramount and is ensured by the provisions of a restrictive Service Level Agreement. To meet the reliability requirements, the project manager and the project team monitor the proper functioning of the servers and the applications 24/7, 365 days a year.

Jean-Damien Beaud, Head of IT of OnAir, said, “Reliability is the most important thing for us. OnAir’s inflight connectivity services are used by airline passengers throughout the world and at all hours. Our aim is to provide near real time rating and billing and always to minimise system downtime. The GTS data centre, which hosts our back-office and billing services, has an important part to play in that.“

It is especially important for clients that the hosting centre provides continuity of service. Servers maintained by GTS feature such systems as the billing and the Business Support System (BSS), provided by AMG.net. That means the key applications, as well as the servers they run on, are all located in one place and are maintained by one team.

For over four years AMG.net has been responsible for analyzing, adjusting, implementation, modernization and developing the mission critical IT systems used by OnAir, including CRM, data warehouse, integration bus, mediation and e-billing. AMG.net is constantly developing OnAir BSS systems to include new functionalities to meet the dynamic needs of the airlines, in particular to extend the analytical and billing functions.

The project for OnAir is not the first one carried out in co-operation with AMG.net. The achievement of its successful implementation proves a high-level partnership. The opportunity to service a client as significant as OnAir is very important to us. It proves that our competences, as well as our technological potential, are valued
on a par with West-European companies”
says Sławomir Koszołko, Marketing and Strategy Director at GTS Poland.

“It pleases us to know that we have brought about the co-operation between two of our clients – says Mariusz Piotrowicz, the Senior Manager at AMG.net. I am very convinced that the experience of working for OnAir and GTS Poland will help us attain the goals that we have set for ourselves”.

Apart from the financial aspect, AMG.net and GTS best met the client‘s requirements from the technological point of view. Polish companies have also succeeded against highly-regarded West-European competition.
