GTS Central Europe (GTS) has announced that they will provide IP VPN services for the Tesco retail chain stores throughout the entire central and eastern European region. Mutual cooperation in the Czech Republic will thereby be expanded to include Hungary, Poland and Slovakia totaling nearly 1000 stores.

“It was important for Tesco to choose a trustworthy partner for the reliable provision of telecommunication services to our stores in the entire central and eastern European region. On the basis of quality references and good initial experience with the services of GTS in the Czech Republic, we decided to expand our cooperation to the entire region,” said John Herz, director of IT for Central and Eastern Europe for Tesco Stores.

“The volume of services GTS provides Tesco has been steadily growing since 2005.  At first because of significant growth within the Czech Republic, and now we are glad that they have extended this growth to other countries in which we operate. Tesco Stores has obtained unified, guaranteed service for the entire region. In connection with the expanded services provided to Tesco, a continually growing number of stores, branches and warehouses have been added to the regional network and the volume of services has subsequently increased rapidly. In addition, Tesco Stores relies on GTS data center services in the Czech Republic. 

The GTS IP Virtual Private Network (VPN) service enables easy and efficient connection of all company stores to a single, private network, thereby significantly reducing operational expenses for dependable internal company applications.  The service is suitable for the simple interconnection of local computer networks with the option of combining data, voice and Internet services. 

With the continued expansion of the Tesco Stores retail network, incremental growth of services can also be expected throughout the CEE region.  GTS provides primary and redundant services at each store, and guarantees performance of the network through industry-leading service level agreements.
