Continues development of GTS Ethernet VPN brings new features
3. 11. 2011
GTS Central Europe (GTS), the leading provider of integrated telecommunications solutions in Central and Eastern Europe has enhanced its Ethernet VPN Ethernet service. It now offers additional options such as newly defined Quality of Service (QoS) and on-line performance monitoring of service operations which will allow customers to continuously measure and monitor operational network parameters and service utilization in real time. In addition, customers will now have a greater selection among the variants of guaranteed service parameter options.
“The Ethernet has frequently become the platform of choice for data services because of its easy scalability and high transparency, characteristics greatly appreciated particularly by clients from a variety of verticals: verticals: finance & insurance, media and healthcare. Our performance monitoring features not only increases the control & assurance of customers’ network, but strengthens their confidence in our Ethernet services,” said Ignacio Irurita, CTO at GTS. “The GTS VPN Ethernet solution is the best alternative to IP VPN because it provides advantages such as lower delay and greater bandwidth.
Among the innovations in the GTS Ethernet VPN services are:
- the newly defined Quality of Service (QoS). For each respective class, there are clearly defined and guaranteed operational parameters. Separating his data operations into classes allows the client to prioritize, assigning the best qualitative transmission parameters to particular applications.
- on-line monitoring of operational parameters by which the client obtains continuous oversight of the quality of operations including qualitative parameters such as data delay, delay variance and lost data frames.
- proactive monitoring that assurances online notification of key network parameters.
- managed CPE that supports unrivalled control of the services by GTS operations.
Through this development, GTS makes Ethernet products fully viable alternative to traditional VPN services and fulfills market demand for high speed and high transparency services.
The GTS Ethernet service portfolio contains GTS Ethernet Line for the creation of Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint solutions, GTS Ethernet VPN for Multipoint-to-Multipoint solutions, GTS Media Line for the distribution of media such as television programs and GTS Ethernet NNI for operator Ethernet connections. Moreover, this summer GTS became the first operator in the Central and Eastern European region to obtain MEF 9 and MEF 14 certification for its Ethernet services. On October 13, GTS has also received the prestigious MEF award “Regional Service Provider of the Year”.
